Interested in posting your content on Invitation Magazine?
The Invitation Magazine is a digital platform where we aim to share, inspire and uplift the Muslim community through human-facing stories. We do this through sharing stories about culture, personal essays, news, and lifestyle content via editorial, interviews, opinion pieces and artist profiles.
The community is at the heart of what we do, and because of this, our focus is community-centric. This is why we want to hear from you!
The Invitation Magazine is a platform to inspire, educate and empower Muslims around the world. At the heart of our work is dawah, and we believe it’s important to highlight the intersectionality of the Muslim experience around the world.
Whilst articles cannot be commissioned, we’re dedicated to sharing as many stories as we can on our platform.
All articles by you will be accredited, giving you an opportunity to grow your portfolio, share your story and build your creative skills.
This is a style guide on what we expect from your articles as a contributor to the Invitation Magazine.
Articles should be between 300-1,500 words.
Articles should have correct grammar, punctuation and UK spelling.
Sentences should be no longer than 30 words. Having a few one-off long sentences is fine, however, the article shouldn’t be filled with them.
Articles should not have strong polarising views condemning the West. If you are writing a political piece, it is important to make sure you don’t take an “us vs them” writing style.
Here at the Invitation, we don’t want to censor the truth. It is ok to write or propose a variety of topics.
Topical issues can include personal essays, culture, politics, interviews, your journey battling illness, mental health, wellbeing, science and medicine, community spotlights or highlighting creatives/artists.
We want to continue to uplift and inspire our community and we do this through positive stories. However, we understand that it’s important to highlight other issues Muslims face that aren’t always positive.
