Reverend Clive Foster Celebrated on Being Awarded an MBE

Trust building forum, HumanKind, hosted a celebration dinner for Reverend Clive Foster to rejoice in his achievement of receiving an MBE for services to the Windrush generation and broader community.

The Karimia Institute are delighted to have worked with Reverend Clive on a number of social justice issues such as Hate Crime and Knife Crime.

Of all his achievements, it was wonderful to hear how his personal faith inspired him. It highlights that belief systems have the power to inspire and embrace humanity.

The Muslim community is proud of his sense of justice and tireless efforts for positive community relations in Nottingham.

The event was a success as family and friends of Reverend Clive had attended the dinner event. This brought together the Muslim and Christian communities and allowed them to get to know one another.

Humankind was honoured to have Reverend Clive’s family and friends say a few words about Clive, which were heartfelt and emotional. Lord Mayor Wendy Smith also attended to celebrate and congratulate Reverend Clive on his achievements.

Followed by Dr Musharraf OBE, DL, who also congratulated the Reverend and spoke about peace and harmony between the communities. There were many heartfelt and moving speeches, and Reverend Clive was given the chance to speak and thank everyone.

Muskaan also spoke about the Humankind project and met many wonderful people intrigued by the works of Karima Institute.

Clive Foster stated the following on reflection of the evening.

I wish to extend heartfelt thank you for a wonderful celebration meal that you hosted on my behalf on receiving the MBE for services to the Windrush Generation yesterday at the Chaska Restaurant in Lenton.

The time, consideration and effort put in by your organisation to honour me with family and friends present were truly inspirational and a testament to your humanity and generosity of spirit.

Please do extend my sincere thanks to all those who were involved in putting on such a memorable and thoughtful occasion. It was wonderful to see the Lord Mayor of Nottingham Cllr Wendy Smith present along with many colleagues from the Muslim and Christian communities coming together on such positive terms.

I look forward to working with you in future in the cause for a more just and fair society.”
