Zahra is an Indian Iranian creative who loves learning. Her particular areas of interest are culture & identity. Outside of researching, writing and collating stories together, she’s an avid reader and traveller.
Dr Musharraf Hussain
Dr Musharraf Hussain is an Islamic scholar, CEO of Karimia Institute, and senior trustee of Muslim Hands. Formerly he was the chairman of the Christian Muslim forum (2008-2010), vice chair of the Association of Muslim Schools (2000-2003). He trained and worked as a research scientist before becoming a fulltime Imam and teacher. He has authored over 30 books.
Atif Hussain works as a Publishing manager for a leading Islamic publisher. With a background in teaching and education, Atif has a passion for inspiring the next generation of Muslims to become good role models in society.
Dr Amjad Aziz is responsible for some of the Q&A. He has obtained an Alim degree from Darul Aloom Muhamaadia Ghosia and BA from Punjab University. He has worked as a research scholar in Zavia Publications and produced books on Sufism. His speciality is in Islamic sciences education literature Sufism philosophy history and dawah.
Dr Asam Latif
Dr Asam Latif is a Karimia Volunteer and advisor to the HumanKind initiative. He is also a pharmacist academic with research interests in the development and evaluation of healthcare interventions and the application of social theory to medicines management.
Faisal Amjad is a serial entrepreneur and founder, with previous start-ups in the EdTech and Smart Home space. He is hugely passionate about knowing yourself, finding your purpose and lifelong learning which he helps people with through his non-profit, KNOW. He writes about purpose, polymathy and fulfilling one's potential.
Ishtiaq Ahmed comes with an impressive background of lived experience in equality, community and interfaith relations. He has contributed to local, regional and national forums on areas of community engagement, equality, interfaith and prevention over the years. He is also the author and co-author of a number of publications.
Ismail Kamdar graduated from the ʿĀlimiyyah program in 2006 and completed a BA in Islamic Studies at International Open University in 2014. Specializes in the fields of Fiqh, Tafsir, and History. The author of over a dozen books in the fields of Islamic Studies and Personal Development.
Jameela is a 27-year-old psychology graduate who has a passion for people. Jameela is dedicated to combining her expertise in education and faith to help others. Jameela is currently in the process of writing a book, ‘Miraculously Muslim’ compiling the journey of reverts to Islam.
Lauren Booth is a highly sought-after writer, influencer and media trainer. Her one-woman stage play ‘Accidentally Muslim’ received acclaim at the world’s largest Arts fair, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She hosts a series on her YouTube channel and her best-selling audiobook is In Search of a Holy Land
Michelle Schafieh: If she’s not busy studying for school, she’s volunteering for her local community. What keeps her motivated to strive for success was Islam. She grew up in West Hollywood where she never had a strong Muslim community. By sharing her stories of how Islam has affected her life, She hopes to motivate others the same way she stays motivated.
Muskaan Jamsheid is a graduate in psychology. She is the project coordinator for HumanKind and also the editor for Invitation Magazine.Outside of work, she enjoys fitness, reading and cooking.
Perveen Hussain is a life coach, with previous experience in the legal and teaching professions. She has a special interest in family relationships and has delivered successful parenting workshops. She is currently writing a course for those thinking of marriage, engaged and already married couples. She holds various voluntary positions including Co-Vice Chair of Calderdale Interfaith, and is a member of the Independent Advisory Group for West Yorkshire Police.
Rafia Tahir provides blog-writing and copywriting services. Her educational background in the technical field and business studies helps her in tackling topics ranging from career and business productivity to web development and digital marketing. She occasionally writes articles for Gas Safety Certs.
Russell Hasan Ali is a lawyer and founder of Legal Muslim - a service that helps Muslims access their Islamic rights in non-Muslim lands. His area of expertise is Islamic inheritance and the law of trusts.
Safia Lamrani is a British-Moroccan actor and writer, represented by RD Casting. Her work often explores her mixed heritage and identity, and she is the co-founder of Pistachio Theatre Company. Safia loves reading, watching films, and is a big Studio Ghibli fan.
Outside of writing, Zarina loves art. Mastering in fine art, Zarina has always dreamed to create her own comic. She’s keen on contributing to the pool of representation for south Asians and hopes to create her own Pakistani female superhero one day.
