Motivate a Million fundraising dinner raises £15,000 for Quran distribution

Motivate a Million, a 5-year campaign dedicated to bridging the gap between accessibility and Islamic teachings to the wider public has raised 15k in their latest fundraiser. The fundraising dinner was held by Councillor Halimah Gulzar.

The money will go towards Quran distributions for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, whether they be in Prisons, Government, NHS or young people who may be struggling to connect with their faith. They hope to distribute 1 million Qurans at the end of the 5 years.

The goal of this 5-year programme is to educate and share the wonder of the Quran with the wider public, and give those with more authority a better understanding of Muslims.

Ahmed Belim, the project co-ordinator of Motivate a Million shared a few words.

“The Motivate a Million 2 fundraiser was a spin-off from our launch back in May 2022. The aim of the evening was to raise for one of our Quran Ambassadors.

I hosted the evening and we had keynote speeches from Dr Ahmed Sulaiymani Dr Ahmed Melibary, and Dr Musharraf. They spoke about the importance of Islam and the Quran. We then had a fundraising session where we managed to raise £15K. The evening entertainment was courtesy of Shugat Ali Khan who performed nasheeds.”
