Korean Muslim, Dr Hamid Choi, became the first to translate the Quran into Korean

Dr Hamid Choi dedicated 7 years of his life to translating the Quran into Korean, becoming the first Korean Muslim to do so.

Alongside this monumental achievement, he is also the author of 90 Islamic books.

Choi received his degree in Islamic studies from Hankuk University, South Korea and the Islamic University of Madinah. He obtained his PhD from Omdurman Islamic University.

When starting his scientific career, Dr. Hamid Choi began to realize that Korean people had difficulty understanding Islam. The Quran translation was motivated by language barriers and the lack of sources of Islamic teachings in Korean.

In fact, misinformation is often found related to the teachings of Islam because of language limitations.

He launched this project with the aim of being able to spread the teachings of Islam. As well as correcting misinformation related to Islam for the entire population of South Korea. [i]
