Hijab-wearing women frequently believe that because their hair is not exposed to dust or pollution, it is OK to neglect a good hair care regimen. The situation is exactly the opposite: hair is wrapped in a headscarf for the majority of the day, and hair tends to lose moisture and texture with time.
Many women who have worn hijabs for a long time lament the loss of their hair’s gloss, volume, and attractiveness. It could be the result of a lack of care rather than the hijab.
1. Allow your hair to breathe
If you wear a hijab all day, your hair is most likely wrapped or fastened tightly, leaving little room for it to breathe. Allowing your hair to breathe every few hours of the day is the first step in proper hair maintenance.
Let your hair down, brush it out, and let it breathe naturally. When you sleep, the greatest time to let your hair breathe is at night. Before you have to wrap it up again the next day, tie hair in a loose braid or pony and allow it soak up some natural air.
2. Do not skip the shampoo
Pay attention to your hair washing schedule and stick to it, even if you have to cover your head with a headscarf after a few hours. It’s tempting to put off washing your hair for another day, but that’s where you’ll make a mistake. The scalp is prone to becoming itchy and accumulating dirt over time, which is why you must keep it clean at all times.
Sweating is a side effect of wearing the hijab, especially if you live in a hot and humid climate. Keep your hair clean and free of infections by washing and conditioning it frequently.
3. Get your hair trimmed regularly
Trimming your hair on a regular basis helps to keep its health, volume, and texture. Do not go more than six months without getting a haircut. We all know that ladies prefer long, luscious hair, and frequent trims are the most convenient method to keep it healthy and manageable. Split ends, which begin to damage hair and worsen if not addressed in a timely manner, are removed with regular trims.
4. Use a silk scarf while sleeping
Because your hair is covered for the majority of the day, it may appear counterintuitive. So, how is wrapping it at night going to help? Because wearing a silk scarf will assist your hair maintain moisture. Dust and particles accumulate naturally on pillow covers, affecting the hair’s health and causing damage over time.
Using a silk scarf will help to keep the hair soft and moisturised, as well as its quality. Take small, daily efforts to care for your hair, and you’ll find that it’s often enough.
5. Follow a good diet
Protein makes up your hair, therefore if you’re experiencing a lot of hair fallout, it’s not because of your hijab. Make sure you eat a well-balanced diet that is high in protein, vitamins, and minerals. A healthy diet will prevent hair fallout and aid in the restoration of damage that traditional haircare products will seldom be able to accomplish.
Maintain a close watch on your stress levels, as they have a direct impact on your hair. Stress can cause hair to come out in clumps and lose volume, making it lifeless and uninteresting. We all want bouncy, voluminous hair, and even if you wear a hijab, the feel-good aspect is enhanced when you untie the hijab to reveal gorgeous locks beneath.
