Chasing Money Is a Fools Errand

“Chasing Money is a fool’s errand” I have always been intrigued by the relationship between money and happiness. The modern world of social media, brands, targeted ads etc. will have you believe that it is a linear relationship. In other words, the more money you earn, the happier you will be.However, as we see with many ‘Celebrities,’ the wealthiest people are often the loneliest and unhappiest. Once you have reached a point where you can buy literally anything you want, where do you go from there? The few wealthy people I know, are either worrying about how to make more money or worrying about losing what they have acquired.I have always believed that until you find the following, your heart will never find the fulfilment you are looking for:Purposeful work – A job that motivates, stimulates and helps you grow and develop as a personMeaningful relationships – A strong connection and understanding with everyone around you, especially our Creator.Contribution – Helping others. such as the poor, the needy and destitute. And helping them with the expectation of nothing in return.Chasing more and more money won’t give you the inner peace you are looking for.If anything, it will give you less time to focus on the 3 things above that really matter; Purpose, Meaning and Contribution!
